UFC Vegas 21 — which is set to go down this Sat. night (March 13, 2021) inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada — has lost a Heavyweight fight between Ben Rothwell and Philipe Lins, which was scratched from the ESPN+-streamed fight card due to injury according to a report from MMA Fighting.
The report did not state who suffered the medical setback.
Rothwell was looking to bounce back after suffering a unanimous decision loss to Marcin Tybura in his previous outing on Oct. 2020. Prior to that setback, “Big Ben” had scored back-to-back wins over Stefan Struve and Ovince Saint Preux.
Lins, meanwhile, was in search of a much-needed victory after dropping back-to-back contests to Andrei Arlovski and Tanner Boser, his only two fights inside the Octagon after jumping ship from PFL. According to the report, the fight will be rescheduled for a later date.
UFC Vegas 21 will feature a Welterweight fight between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad. In the co-main event, Misha Cirkunov takes on Ryan Spann while Dan Ige faces Gavin Tucker in a Featherweight showdown.
