Ronda Rousey is a big fan of CM Punk, and she wants him back in the squared circle.

Five years ago, things were very different for Ronda Rousey and CM Punk. Rousey had been brought over to the UFC from Strikeforce, and became a UFC champion when she beat Liz Carmouche. Punk was coming to the end of a 434-day run with the WWE championship. They were at the top of their chosen professions.

Fast forward to today. Rousey left the UFC after two straight one-sided losses, and is currently starting a new career in the WWE. Punk, after walking out of the pro wrestling organization in 2014, is a fledgling MMA fighter with an 0-1 record and a bout scheduled for June.

Now that Rousey is with Vince McMahon, she wants to see Mr. Brooks back in wrestling. A self-professed huge fan of Punk, Rousey spoke to Metro UK and made it clear that she wants to work with him:

“I think everybody on Earth would love to see him back in WWE, and I would completely fall all over myself and be honored if he wanted to be involved with me in any way, shape or form. But also, it’s not all about everyone else. It’s his life and it’s about him. He’s doing what he enjoys, what he’s passionate about and what brings out the best of him.

I’m sure there’s a lot of people that wish I would come back to fighting, but you know what, I don’t fight for them, and he doesn’t wrestle for us. He should do what he wants to do and what makes him into the person he feels like he’s meant to be.

If that’s fighting right now, then all the power to him. Fight to your hearts content. Everyone in the world knows he has a gift for wrestling and he has something special, and if he ever feels like sharing it with us again, then hell yeah, please, even if it’s not with me, I just hope I’m there to see it.”

Rousey is currently involved in an angle with Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Stephanie McMahon, and will team with former Olympic wrestling gold medalist Kurt Angle to wrestle the two at WrestleMania. Punk doesn’t have a scheduled opponent for UFC 225 yet, but it is expected to be Mike Jackson.
