Ronda Rousey’s role on “9-1-1” resulted in an actual 9-1-1 call.
Ronda Rousey jammed her finger so bad that the image might gross you out pretty badly.
The former UFC women’s bantamweight champion-turned-WWE Raw Women’s champion’s latest endeavor is on the small screen. Rousey joined the season three cast of “9-1-1” in a reoccurring role as firefighter Lena Bosko. The show’s name rang eerily true as Rousey was rushed to the hospital following an on-set injury.
Rousey detailed how her finger nearly snapped off after being jammed in a boat door. “So the word is out I nearly lost my finger shooting 9-1-1,” Rousey wrote Tuesday on Instagram. “Freak accident, first take of the day a boat door fell on my hand, I thought I just jammed my fingers so I finished the take before looking (I know sounds crazy, but I’m used to live audiences and never showing pain unless I’m supposed to) after a break in the action I told our director the situation and was rushed via ambulance to the hospital where they promptly reattached my bone and tendon with a plate and screws.”
“I returned to filming the next day and finished my scenes before returning home to recover,” she continued. “Modern medicine amazes me, I already had 50 percent range of motion back in 3 days.”
Yikes.
