Top-15 Heavyweight combatants, Roy Nelson and Jared Rosholt, scrapped for 15 minutes in what was a rather underwhelming co-main event at UFC Fight Night 82 last night (Sat., Feb. 6, 2016) inside MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Check out the full co-main event recap here.
“Big Country” came into this contest looking to stop the bleeding of a three-fight losing skid, while “Big Show” wanted to keep the momentum going on his quest into the upper echelon of the 265-pound division.
Well, if this is what you call moving on up, then the needle moved very little.
From the get-go, it was run or feel the wrath of Nelson’s powerful overhand right for the budding contender Rosholt. The Texas-based combatant wanted anything but to trade in the pocket with The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 10 winner.
Nelson landed maybe a few clean right hands over the course of their “Sin City” tilt, while Rosholt failed to implement his All-American wrestling skills.
As a result, Nelson was awarded the unanimous-decision victory for his advancement in the Octagon. He sees his overall record improve to 21-12, while Rosholt falls to 14-3.
