Undefeated KO artist Jairzinho Rozenstruik will fight Francis Ngannou in March.
Jairzinho Rozenstruik has got what he asked for after his win this past weekend at UFC Washington, and that’s a fight with former heavyweight title challenger, Francis Ngannou.
ESPN first reported the news, though the UFC is yet to confirm the matchup. The UFC’s return to Columbus, Ohio on March 28th is their first in over a decade. Last time the promotion hosted a card in Columbus was for UFC 96 in 2009.
Ngannou (14-3) has rebounded after losing consecutive fights against Stipe Miocic and Derrick Lewis by winning his last three UFC appearances. The hard-hitting Cameroonian scored knockouts of Curtis Blaydes and Cain Velasquez both in under a minute, and recently stopped Junior Dos Santos in the first round at UFC Minneapolis.
Rozenstruik (10-0) was a breakout star in 2019, winning his first four UFC fights all by knockout. The experienced kickboxer started his UFC career with a knockout over Junior Albini, he then beat Allen Crowder in just nine seconds at UFC Greenville. Most recently, the Surinamese heavyweight knocked out Andrei Arlovski in under 30-seconds and provided a last gasp KO of Overeem at UFC Washington.
No other fights have yet been announced for the upcoming Columbus card.
