Ryan Bader vs. Rafael Cavalcante is officially a go.
Bader tweeted news of the UFC 174 light heavyweight matchup on Wednesday, confirming an initial report on UFC Tonight several weeks back by MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani.
Cavalcante (12-4, 1 no-contest), best known by his nickname “Feijao,” looks to build on his last fight, a first-round submission win over Igor Pokrajac in November.
Bader (12-4), the winner of The Ultimate Fighter 10, is looking to build on a stretch in which he’s won two of his past three fights.
Bader-Cavalcante is the latest addition to what’s shaping up as an interesting event in Vancouver on June 14. In the main event, flyweight champ Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson puts his title on the line against Ali Bagautinov; and British Columbia native Rory McDonald meets Tyron Woodley in a bout with major implications on the welterweight title picture.
