Andrew Holbrook is out of his contest against Sage Northcutt at UFC on Fox 18. Northcutt now takes on Bryan Barberena on short notice in the welterweight divison on January 30.
An undisclosed injury has forced lightweight Andrew Holbrook to pull out of his upcoming fight against hot prospect, Sage Northcutt, on January 30 as it was reported by the UFC on Twitter. Fortunately, a replacement was already announced, though the fight will now take place in the welterweight division as Bryan Barberena stepped up to the challenge.
Barberena who was scheduled to fight Jonavin Webb on February 21 will look to rebound from an unanimous decision loss to Chad Laprise last April. The defeat snapped a seven-fight win streak including a TKO victory over Joe Ellenberger in his UFC debut back in December 2014.
Still undefeated at 7-0, Northcutt searches for his third UFC win following a second round submission of Cody Pfister and a first-round TKO of Francisco Trevino before that, with both fights taking place last year.
Sage Northcutt and Bryan Barberena will be a part of UFC on Fox 18’s main card, which happens on January 30 in Newark, New Jersey. Light-heavyweight contenders Ryan Bader and Anthony Johnson will serve as the main event of the evening.
