Sage Northcutt has become the latest UFC fighter to sign an individual deal with Reebok.
Reebok has struck again. After signing a variety of high-profile UFC fighters to individual deals over the past year and a half, they have now decided to bring on Sage Northcutt. The young fighter announced his deal with Reebok on Twitter today, and responded to Reebok’s message of support:
So pumped to announce that I’ve officially signed with @Reebok. #TeamReebok pic.twitter.com/YO7hF4oTrV

@Reebok Reebok is Awesome! I’m glad to be part of the team

Reebok also sponsors the UFC itself of course, so everyone wears their gear anyway. But fighters with individual deals get special gear made with their name on it, and some extra cash too. When the whole UFC/Reebok deal was originally announced, it looked like it was just the champions that would get individual deals. Then Conor McGregor (pre-champ days) and Paige VanZant got one, and things changed.
Now Sage Northcutt has one too. You can probably expect fans and fighters alike to tear apart the decision to sign him, especially considering he’s coming off a loss. Northcutt meets Enrique Marin at UFC 200 next month.
