Red-hot heavyweight power puncher Tai Tuivasa will look to break into the 265-pound rankings when he collides with struggling Brazilian bruiser Augusto Sakai as part of the UFC Vegas 43 MMA event, scheduled for Sat., Nov. 20, 2021 inside APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“Bam Bam” was originally booked to throw down with Walt Harris at UFC 267 in Abu Dhabi; however, “The Big Ticket” was forced to withdraw for undisclosed reasons, promoting matchmakers to ship Tuivasa to “Sin City” a few weeks later.
Tuivasa (12-3) is coming off three straight wins, including last July’s first-round knockout victory over Greg Hardy. As for Sakai (15-3-1), he’s looking to rebound from consecutive knockout losses to Alistair Overeem and Jairzinho Rozenstruik.
UFC Vegas 43 will be headlined by the women’s bantamweight showdown pitting Miesha Tate opposite Ketlen Vieira. Elsewhere on the card, Sean Brady and Michael Chiesa go to war at 170 pounds, shortly after Joanne Calderwood and Taila Santos throw hands at flyweight.
