Let’s try this again.
After an untimely knee injury booted him from UFC 219, the promotion will give Gokhan Saki another chance to throw hands against Khalil Rountree at the upcoming UFC 226 pay-per-view (PPV) event on July 7, 2018 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Saki (1-1) made a successful Octagon debut late last year at UFC Fight Night 117, knocking out Henrique da Silva in the very first round … as promised. The victory was “The Rebel’s” first in mixed martial arts (MMA) after an extensive and prosperous career in kickboxing.
Rountree (6-3) remained on the UFC 219 fight card, but dropped a disappointing decision to Michal Oleksiejczuk, snapping a two-fight win streak. “The War Horse” stands at 2-3 after graduating from The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 23.
UFC 226 will be headlined by the heavyweight title fighting pitting Daniel Cormier — jumping up from 205 pounds — against reigning division kingpin Stipe Miocic (more on that fight here).
Expect more UFC 226 fight card announcements in the coming weeks.
