“He wanted to kill me for no reason. ‘Cause he hates me.”
More details about the viral Joe Schilling bar beatdown are beginning to unravel. TMZ recently obtained a clip from police officers showing alleged victim Justin Balboa giving his statement.
Balboa’s face was blurred, but his shirt was drizzled in what appears to be his own blood. The video begins with him saying he felt “very embarrassed” by what had just happened as police officers tried to calm him down. Then he starts to give his own account of the incident.
This guy just… You know, we were all having a good time, this guy just cracked me. He cracked me. No reason. Then, just chased me, know what I’m saying? That’s it.
Chased me, chased me down, bro. Like chased me down, beat my ass. He wanted to kill me for no reason. ‘Cause he hates me. ‘Cause he’s a f—ng… Why? What’d I do. I didn’t even do anything.

Balboa continues to allege that “people are chasing” him down and that he did nothing wrong. He then gave a rough description of Schilling, based on what he says is his 13-year experience as a boxer.
I’m sorry, man. I would never call the cops, man. But the thing is, bro, people are chasing me. I don’t want to get my ass whooped.
He snuffed me for no reason. I was doing nothing, man. He clocked me. He’s a huge guy, bro.
6’5”, at least. ‘Bout f—ng 270, man. I boxed for 13 years, man. I know how much people weigh, man.
In his own account, Schilling stated that he feared for his own safety, which was why he took action. He also claimed that Balboa was being racist and belligerent.
This was corroborated by the bar manager, who said Balboa “was extremely intoxicated” and may have even “made an improper remark” about Schilling’s supposed female companion. They also described Balboa as a “regular customer who routinely causes problems at the establishment due to his intoxication level.”
Balboa, a 31-year-old busboy of an Outback restaurant, is planning to pursue legal action. Schilling is now facing one misdemeanor charge of simple battery.
