In Bellator MMA’s version of “Khabib vs. Ferguson,” Paul Daley and Sabah Homasi have been booked to fight for a third time after two previous attempts to make the bout happen went up in smoke.
Indeed, the two talented Welterweight veterans are set to collide at the upcoming Bellator 257 event on April 16, 2021. They were initially lined up to throw down in Oct. 2019 before an injury suffered by Homasi scrapped those plans. In March 2020, the two were booked once more at Bellator 241, but the event was scrapped altogether as a result of COVID-19.
Daley hasn’t competed since defeating Saad Awad at Bellator 232 way back in Oct. 2019, a fight “Semtex” won via second round technical knockout. Winner of two straight, Daley looks to collect his first three-fight win streak in nearly five years.
Homasi, meanwhile, has won four straight, including winning his first three fights under the Bellator umbrella. In his last fight, “The Punisher” defeated Bobby Voelker via knockout at Bellator 250.
Going down inside Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., Bellator 257 will be headlined by a Light Heavyweight title fight between division champion, Vadim Nemkov, taking on Phil Davis as part of the opening round of the promotion’s Grand Prix.
In addition, Anthony Johnson and Yoel Romero will collide in another tournament match up, which will also be their respective debuts with the Viacom-owned mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion after signing deals in 2020.
