With Mike Perry done and dealt with, Jake Paul is ready to lock in his big Mike Tyson superfight for November.

One Mike down, one Mike to go.

Jake Paul battered a significantly smaller “Platinum” Mike Perry en route to a sixth round TKO victory on Saturday night (highlights here). And despite all the noise about an Alex Pereira fight or a Conor McGregor fight, the next name up is another Mike: “Iron” Mike Tyson.

July 20th was originally the date Paul and Tyson were set to box in front of 60,000 people at AT&T Stadium. The new date for that is November 15th, if Tyson signs a contract.

“Mike Tyson, you’re next, big boy,” Paul said in the ring after his win. “Sign the contract, November 15 on Netfix.”

There’s little doubt Tyson will indeed sign a contract for the new date now that Paul has trounced Perry. The heavyweight boxing legend was apparently worried that “The Problem Child” might drop the ball and lose to “Platinum,” screwing up their superfight. That didn’t happen, so it’s full steam ahead … barring any more health problems for the 58 year old.

“I’m excited for that one, I’m going to go home and prepare for that one,” Paul said. “It’s happening, November 15, Mike Tyson is training, he’s back, looking crazier than ever. I’m going to get another KO and prove everyone wrong once again. Everyone said I was an idiot for taking this fight, that I was risking it but this is why I’m here, I take big risks.”

The trickiest thing for Paul over the coming months will be balancing hype for the fight and respect for Tyson. Hit it wrong and it sounds like he’s gleefully looking forward to beating up an old man. But he also needs to sell this as a real fight, not a toned down exhibition where nothing will happen.

“Mike, I love you but this is my sport,” Jake said. “You’re a legend, you’re one of the two most famous boxers ever to live, you and Muhammad Ali. It’s an honor to get in the ring with you. I’m so, so honored; you’re a legend, but I’m going to take your throne, brother.”
