Former UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk has been training hard alongside fellow Polish piston Karolina Kowalkiewicz, though it looks as though Jedrzejczyk went a little too hard at one point and ripped open her leg.
Certainly not on Chris Weidman’s level, but I don’t think anyone would be signing up for the stitches Jedrzejczyk required to close that nasty wound.
“So you wanna be a fighter? The good thing is that I can be back to training tomorrow morning,” Jedrzejczyk wrote on Instagram. “Big thanks to surgeon Bartek Maminski and Damian Smash for a quick and great hospitality on ER. We will be back!”
Jedrzejczyk, 33, has not competed since her “Fight of the Night” opposite Zhang Weili at the UFC 248 PPV back in March 2020. No doubt the former champ is hoping to get another crack at Rose Namajunas now that “Thug” is back atop the 115-pound throne, but the line has gotten pretty long in the strawweight division.
I hear this fighter needs a top contender …
