‘Rocky’ is just one of many people who believed Mike Tyson let Jake Paul win their boxing match, and most of the others aren’t backing down from that opinion.

Sylvester Stallone is walking back comments he made regarding the recent Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight being a fix.

Based on all the conversations the writers at MMAMania.com have had over the past few weeks, the general consensus amongst the viewing public is that Mike Tyson threw the fight against Jake Paul, allowing the 27-year-old YouTuber-turned-boxer to win an undeserved unanimous decision in their record-setting Netflix fight.

There’s always fight-fixing talk like this whenever a fight breaks through into the mainstream, and no fight has broken through like Tyson vs. Paul in years. So it’s unsurprising that there’d be allegations like this going around … but a bit wild that Most Valuable Promotions had to put out a press release stating there was no contractual stipulation preventing Tyson from using certain moves or knocking Paul out.

Paul and his advisors may have even gone after some bigger name celebrities for fanning the fight-fix fire on social media. Following the match, Sylvester Stallone — “Rocky” himself — claimed Tyson allowed Paul to win.

“Business is business. SOMETIMES you have to do hard things and sacrifice for the sake of helping your FAMILY,” Stallone wrote on Instagram. “I have known this unbelievable athlete since he’s 19 years old and what we saw was him giving one of the great Oscar winning performances of all time!!!! Please Jake, be grateful, HE SPARED YOUR LIFE!”

“Always looked up to you as kid, but now you are a spreader of lies against my name,” Paul responded in the comments. “Sad to see you fall. Maybe it’s all the plastic surgery.”

A few days later, Sly deleted his post and shared a new one.

“Just to set my personal record straight,” he wrote. “Upon second viewing the best man won that night. My apologies. Keep punching.”

That’s one person down, 29 million to go.

Stallone’s mea culpa isn’t going to change anything. All the actor did was say the same thing tons of other people watching the fight said. No matter how old Tyson is, no matter how blown out his knees and hips and back are, fans aren’t willing to admit that he’s thoroughly cooked.

We don’t know how this is going to play out, but we do find it hilarious. After years of fighting over the hill husks of former champions, Jake Paul’s reputation is finally getting savaged. Because people think Mike Tyson let him win! His team did too good of a job building Tyson up, and now everyone thinks Jake is a fraud. It’s just *chef’s kiss* marvelous.
