Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion, Conor McGregor, is back in the news this week after video surfaced of his “Notorious” attack in a Dublin bar last April (watch the video here), one that left an elderly bar patron on the wrong end of an Irish sucker punch.
Longtime rival, Khabib Nurmagomedov, is not impressed.
“I told you guy, this guy have no class, no respect,” Nurmagomedov told TMZ. “This is very bad for sport. Some things he’s done are good for sport but right now, he without his mind. He lose his mind. It’s crazy and government has to smash him, this is my opinion.”
The video shows McGregor attempting to share his whiskey, Proper No. 12, but the old man refuses. That’s when “Notorious” let his hands go, which of course prompted his entourage to intervene before things went from bad to worse.
Like it did here.
“I think these people have to go jail,” Nurmagomedov said. “They have to go jail. This happened in Ireland? What happened about Ireland government? We guys from Russia have problem with visa, but why this bullshit guy don’t have problem with visa in U.S.A.? How U.S.A. can give him visa or something like this, respect or job? These people, they have to go jail.”
McGregor has not competed since his submission loss to Nurmagomedov last October and does not appear to be in any real hurry to make his Octagon return. Instead, “Notorious” appears focused on growing his whiskey brand, for better or worse.
