Anthony Smith accused Jon Jones of failing his drug tests before their fight at UFC 235 two months ago. Now Jones is responding.

This is an odd rehashing of events, but news is a flat circle I guess.

For those that may have forgotten, UFC 235 had trace amounts of drama in the lead-up to Jon Jones vs. Anthony Smith. Drug tests revealed two ‘adverse’ findings of turinabol metabolite in Jones system. The Nevada State Athletic Comission has even had to re-license Jones given that Jones is a special case when it comes to turinabol.

Smith responded to the drama at the time, stating that he ‘didn’t care.’ Nonetheless, he went on the Jenna Ben Show two months ago, and went on to say:

“I never told anyone that Jon failed every drug test leading up to our fight. Every single drug test. I never brought it up one time in any interview, in any media thing. Nothing. The commission called me very day to let me know that he was still failing his drug tests.”

For context, Smith was responding to the abrupt beef that developed between them when Jones made an obnoxious comment about what “would have happened” if somebody broke into his home the way Smith’s intruder did. I believe it’s called Wahlberg Courage.

Nonetheless, it found its way to Jones only recently.

In a way this news is fitting. Like Jones’ big move to heavyweight, there’s not much going on.
