Even in retirement, you can always count on Chael Sonnen for some humor on social media.

Chael Sonnen did a lot of things in his career. He’s an uncrowned WEC champ. He fought for titles in the UFC three times. He made people actually believe that the Nogueira brothers fed carrots to a bus. But he’ll also be remembered for something else – failing drug tests.

After becoming the man who brought TRT into the vocabulary of fans and media, he failed two drug tests in 2014 for a whole variety of different things including EPO and HGH. He served his two-year suspension and signed with Bellator, where he closed out his career with five more fights.

But on the subject of his test failures, Yahoo Sports writer Kevin Iole decided to take Sonnen to task with his headline on an article about his retirement following a loss to Lyoto Machida last weekend. The exact headline article says “Chael Sonnen, one of the worst drug cheats of his era, retires from MMA”.

Sonnen, ever the jokester, took to Twitter to respond in a way only Chael could:

“Not to be picky Kevster

But

I wasn’t one of the WORST drug cheats of my era

I was the BEST”

The 42-year-old Sonnen retires (if he’s truly retired this time) with a record of 31-17-1, and is the only man to fight Anderson Silva, Jon Jones, and Fedor Emelianenko in his career.
