Get round by round recaps of Errol Spence vs. Shawn Porter here at Bloody Elbow. Here: rounds 10-12.
The marquee fight for boxing this week is the PPV title unification fight between Errol Spence, Jr. and Shawn Porter. Both men are world champions, both looking for the biggest win of their career. Bloody Elbow has live fight night coverage all night. Here, we have round by round recaps of rounds 10-12.
Round 10: Again, a very close and hard to call round. Porter bulling in, using his power to get in, not technique. Once he’s in there, he’s landing more, including some shots that are questionable on how low they are, but do hurt Spence. Spence also gets a small cut here on a headbutt – the first time in his career say the announcers. 10-9 Porter, which means I have it even heading into the final two rounds.
Round 11: Spence lands some good tight right hooks and seems to be taking a bit of control. He then lands a clean left hook that lands perfectly on the chin that drops Porter for the first knockdown of the fight. That’s a huge moment in a close fight. Porter comes back hard, looking to either get his own knockdown in return or at least show that he’s still here, but it’s not enough. 10-8 Spence
Round 12: Spence comes out aggressive – he’s looking to get the KO and be sure he doesn’t have to rely on the judges. Porter doesn’t look like he’s still wobbled from the knockdown, but he also doesn’t seem to be landing much in the opening. Then halfway through, it’s Porter who lands a big shot, but Spence comes right back and pressures him into the ropes where he controls. Porter gives it his all in the final minute, but there’s not enough on the punches. 10-9 Spence
