Felicia Spencer and Zarah Fairn faced each other in a women’s Featherweight clash tonight (Sat., Feb. 29, 2020) at UFC Fight Night 169, which took place inside Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Virginia.
Spencer lands a left hook to open the bout and presses behind her jab. Fairn lands an uppercut after denying the clinch. Front kick from Spencer lands. Fairn lands a counter punch, eats a follow up shot. Long jab scores from Fairn. Fairn catches a kick and lands a big counter punch. Spencer pushes her foe into the fence and begins working for a takedown. Fairn successfully defends the first attempt, but Spencer lands her next move, a trip. Spencer steps into the mount quickly. Spencer climbs high into mount and begins to drop elbows. The ground strikes are adding up quickly, as Fairn does not seem confident from her back. Fairn tries to scramble, but she’s stuck in a bad position and absorbing some brutal shots. The referee gave Fairn every possible chance, but Spencer maintained the onslaught and forced the finish.
