Stefan Struve will look to get on a winning streak.
The longtime UFC heavyweight fighter will meet Jared Rosholt at UFC 193 on Nov. 15 in Melbourne, Australia, the UFC announced Thursday. It is the promotion’s first-ever trip to the city after a ban on cage fighting was lifted earlier this year.
Struve (26-7) picked up his first win since 2012 when he beat Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 190 earlier this month. The Dutchman had lost two in a row before that and also was away for a year dealing with a genetic heart ailment. The 6-foot-11 Struve, still just 27 years old, is now training out of the Blackzilians in Boca Raton, Fla.
Rosholt (13-2), a former three-time All-American wrestler at Oklahoma State, has won two in a row in the UFC and five of his last six with the promotion. “The Big Show” defeated Timothy Johnson via unanimous decision earlier this month. Rosholt, 29, is the winningest heavyweight wrestler in the history of Oklahoma State’s historic program.
UFC 193 is headlined by a welterweight title fight between champion Robbie Lawler against Carlos Condit. In the co-main event, Australia resident Mark Hunt meets Antonio Silva in a rematch of their December 2013 classic. Also on the card, Michael Bisping will take on Robert Whittaker.
