Strikeforce Challengers 15 Fighter Salaries, Medical Suspensions, & Viewer Numbers In

strikeforce-challengers-15Last Friday night, Showtime aired the latest in the Strikeforce Challengers series with it’s fifteenth event Strikeforce Challengers: Wilcox vs. Damm from the Stockton Arena in Stockton, California.

The Challengers show was headlined by a couple of lightweight bouts featuring matches between Justin Wilcox vs. Rodrigo Damm and David Douglas vs. Caros Fodor.

Five bouts, including both of the aforementioned lightweight matches, were aired on the April 1st Showtime broadcast drawing an audience of 214,000 viewers for the event. The numbers were average for all Challengers events shown in 2010, coming in fifth out of ten events.

The California State Athletic Commission also released the fighter salaries as well as the medical suspensions for the event.

Total fighter salaries for the event reached $68,500 with the top earners being event headliners Wilcox ($16,000) and Rodrigo Damm ($15,000). Wilcox earned $8,000 and $8,000 to for his first round TKO win. Full fighter salaries can be found below.

A total of eleven fighters received medical suspensions from the CSAC, with five of those fighters facing six-month suspensions. Those facing 180 day sentences include main card fighters Justin Wilcox and Wayne Philips, as well as prelim fighters Anthony Avila, Tommy Peterson, and Raul Sandoval.
