With news of a women’s featherweight bout between Ronda Rousey (3-0)and Julia Budd (2-1) announced on Wednesday, no exact date or event had been identified for that matchup.
On Thursday, MMAjunkie.com confirmed with Nevada State Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer that the event in question is to be Strikeforce Challengers 20, which will take place on November 18 at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This will be the sixth Challengers event run under the new Zuffa management, and fourth to take place at the events new home in Las Vegas.
The event marks a change of pace for the Challengers series which scheduled events for June, July, August, and September. The SF Challengers 20 event will occur almost two months after the upcoming Sept. 23 Strikeforce Challengers: Larkin vs. Zwicker event and may mark a slowing down of events by the Zuffa owners.
“Business as usual”? or possibly another sign that the Strikeforce promotion will see the end of it’s days in early 2012.
