Satoshi IshiiStrikeforce CEO Scott Coker has confirmed that the promotion is in contract negotiations to bring former Olympic Judo Gold medalist Satoshi Ishii (4-1) to America.

The Strikeforce exec noted that the Japanese fighter was not being considered for either of the upcoming Feb. 12 or 18 events. No possible opponent was named but it’s possible that Ishii will drop to 205 lbs for his Strikeforce debut.

Ishii has won his last four fights after dropping his MMA debut in December 2009. He last competed on the Dynamite!! 2010 on New Years Eve against kickboxer Jerome Le Banner winning a unanimous decision. It was his fourth fight of 2010 which also included wins over Katsuyori Shibata, Ikuhisa Minowa, and Tafa Misipati.
