UFC import Ed Herman and four others received extended medical suspensions in the aftermath of Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine, the Oklahoma State Athletic Commission confirmed on Monday.
Both Herman and preliminary card fighter Kurt Holobaugh felt the brunt of the announcement, receiving indefinite suspensions due to various injuries suffered during the event. Herman is unable to return without acquiring clearance from a physician on his right shoulder, hand and elbow, while Holobaugh requires the same on his right hand.
Three additional fighters — Dion Staring, Mike Bravo and Anthony Smith — received 30-day suspensions for minor reasons.
