Kickboxing company Superkombat is making moves into the US market, starting with a Grand Prix event to be held in Puerto Rico in March. Get the details here.
The Eastern European based kickboxing organization Superkombat recently made an exciting announcement for US fans. Starting in 2016, the company will begin expanding into the US market. Their foray into this region begins on March 26 when they host the Superkombat World Grand Prix in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Titled USA vs. Rest of the World, the show will be live from San Juan, and is positioned as the launch of a Superkombat push into the United States in 2016. Headlining the show is Superkombat mainstay Catalin Morosanu vs. Daniel Sam. Full fight card will be announced soon. The show will air at 4:00 p.m. ET on Eurosport, and the company is currently exploring options for US fans.
Founded in 2011, Superkombat has been a fixture of the European scene in the past years, featuring fighters such as Benjamin Adegbuyi, Errol Zimmerman, and Rico Verhoeven among many others. The company is known for both their action-based style and for featuring exciting up and coming fighters – it will be very interesting to see what US talents make their way to the Superkombat ring as part of this expansion.
