Conor McGregor is still taking any opportunity to poke and prod at his old rival, Dustin Poirier.
UFC 303 fight week is here and McGregor and his would-be opponent, Michael Chandler, have stopped talking about each other. While Chandler recently appeared to turn his attention to the Baddest Motherf*cker (BMF) champion, Max Holloway, McGregor went on the attack toward “The Diamond” today (Tues., June 25, 2024).
McGregor, 35, responded to a clip from an episode of Theo Von’s podcast that featured Poirier talking about a fight he had on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, Louisiana during Mardi Gras. This prompted “The Notorious” to get personal and include Poirier’s wife, Jolie Poirier, in his now-deleted tweets with a picture from the pair’s first fight at UFC 178 in September 2014.

“So me and my wife Jolie were at Mardi Gra this one time and a guy came over and bent her over a fence like this and was whispering in her ear and I just saw red [crying laughing emoji],” McGregor tweeted.
“Bent her over and ear f*cked her,” he added. “He was seein red bro. Sexy red hahahaja”
McGregor won that first encounter 10 years ago, defeating Poirier via a first round knockout in under two minutes at Featherweight. However, their two fights since then played out dramatically differently, as Poirier scored redemption with back-to-back technical knockout wins in 2021. The latter saw McGregor gruesomely break his leg to halt the action at the end of the opening round (watch highlights).
Unfortunately for McGregor, the ship has likely sailed on any hopes of getting redemption as Poirier’s career might be a wrap. Even if he does stick around, he’s let it be known he isn’t interested in fighting the former UFC Featherweight and Lightweight champion a fourth time.
