We knew UFC 229 was going to be crazy … but perhaps not that crazy.

Khabib Nurmagomedov improved his professional mixed martial arts (MMA) record to 27-0 with a fourth-round submission win over Conor McGregor in last Saturday night’s (Oct. 6, 2018) headliner inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Their championship bout capped off months of back-and-forth jibber-jabber that dragged both “The Eagle” and “Notorious” through the mud, which unfortunately boiled over after the pay-per-view (PPV) event and led to a massive post-fight melee.

Arrests were made, fighters were cut, people were disgusted … it was bananas.

Elsewhere on the card, former interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson reestablished his place among the 155-pound elite by stopping Anthony Pettis in the co-main event, a wild bang-a-thon that covered the canvas in blood.

If you happened to miss last Saturday night’s championship showdown or the wall-to-wall coverage we brought you, the fickle fight fan, right here at MMAmania.com, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with a complete UFC 229 link wrap-up.
