All things considered, it was a pretty successful trip to Sao Paulo, Brazil, for Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight veteran James Krause, who slept Sergio Moraes at the UFC Fight Night 164 mixed martial arts (MMA) event last Sat. night (Nov. 16, 2019) inside Ibirapuera Gymnasium on ESPN+.

Unfortunately, his third-round finish didn’t come without a price, as Krause got his foot stuck inside the cage during their 170-pound affair and as a result, suffered a nasty tear in the webbing between his toes.
“When I go home, I’m not going to go train for myself,” Krause said after the fight (via MMA Junkie). “Because I need to take time off to heal up. I got stitches in the web of my toe. Yeah, which was terrible. So obviously, I’m going to take time to let that heal.”
Krause (27-7) has now captured six straight wins — three of them finishes — but remains unranked in the welterweight division. That might change with the pending departure of Ben Askren, though rankings are sometimes based more on popularity than skill.
