Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight veteran Jalin Turner is nicknamed “The Tarantula” because he’s addicted to collecting arachnids, so to share his passion with the world, the “Contender Series” standout weighed in with a live spider.
I guess we should be grateful his nickname is not “The Hand Grenade.”
Turner, 25, battles Brok Weaver at a catchweight of 165 pounds as part of the UFC Vegas 10 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on ESPN+ this Sat. night (Sept. 12, 2020) inside the promotion’s APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“You just get addicted to collecting them,” Turner previously told ESPN. “I was breeding them at the time, so I had a bunch of them. It got crazy. It’s a whole underground world. I was developing a fear and dislike for spiders, so I casually got one as a pet to get over that. It just intrigued me so much. I’ve never seen anything like it.”
When it comes to UFC weigh ins … neither have we.
