You would think someone with the temerity to open a school, like UFC welterweight Leon Edwards, would at least have the knowledge that “midget” is a derogatory word used to characterize people with dwarfism.

The Little People of America are not impressed.

Edwards (17-3) still hasn’t cracked the Top 10 at 170 pounds, despite winning seven straight fights inside the Octagon, and expects a victory over No. 3-ranked Rafael dos Anjos to move him one step closer to a rematch against current division champion, Kamaru Usman.

Edwards, 27, was out-muscled by Usman at UFC on FOX 17 back in December 2015, part of a 2-2 start under the UFC banner after migrating from BAMMA roughly five years back. “Rocky” was last seen capturing a split-decision win over Gunnar Nelson at UFC London.

“How many more blood must be shed before you give me the fight I want,” Edwards asked on Twitter. “My next fight should be against anyone in the Top 5 and after beating them I’ll win the UFC world title.”

Edwards is currently unbooked but planning a late-summer return.
