Till is trying to look on the bright side of things after his Social Knockout 3 fight against Muhammad Mutie descended into a chaotic brawl.
After nearly two years stuck on the sidelines, Darren Till made his combat sports return in an exhibition boxing match at Social Knockout 3. It ended up being a complete farce and disaster.
The official fight against Mohammad Mutie ended before it even got started after Mutie took a single punch to the back of the head and claimed he couldn’t continue. It looked like we were headed to a DQ loss for Till or a No Contest … until Till called Mutie a coward and suddenly Mutie wanted to fight again. But instead of restarting the fight, a brawl broke out that took minutes to break up.
Till chased Mutie back to his corner only for his opponent to hit him with a single leg takedown (ironic). Their corners began punching and kicking at each other. Random people climbed into the ring to get in on the action. It was ridiculous. When order was restored, Social Knockout 3 officials declared the bout a TKO via injury win for Till, which was pretty generous of them.
Till spoke to Fred Talks Fighting after the event and detailed what happened from his point of view.
“He just didn’t wanna be there,” Darren said. “He’s rolling around on the ground for 20 minutes and I’m just like, ‘Is this what my debut has come to?’ Then he comes over to me saying, ‘I wanna fight!’ I’m like, ‘You don’t wanna fight me. You’ve just been rolling around for 20 minutes.’ And I said, ‘You’re a coward.’ And then he started to run at me, so you know, I’m a fighter at the end of the day. I’m gonna defend myself, and it just sort of broke out from there.”
Till sounded more bothered by his opponent’s decision to quit than the brawl that followed.
“I’m not happy with it, but at the end of the day I got the win,” he said. “And then the brawl after it? Diaz and Masvidal are fighting tonight and I don’t think anyone’s gonna care about that. They care about the brawl. So there’s no bad publicity there.”

We’re not so sure about that. Till is trying to build himself into a name that can B-side against big money names on the influencer boxing circuit. He’s been teasing big fights for several months now, but wasn’t able to actually lock up anything better than this ill advised Social Knockout booking. He’s still hoping the big names will come, though.
“I was meant to fight [Julio Cesar] Chavez Jr, I was gonna knock him flat out,” he said. “And these Jake Pauls, Tommy Furys, these Masvidals and Diaz, they’re just there to be took.”
“Tommy Fury or KSI are there, there’s a lot of opponents there,” he added. “So I’m just ready for whatever is coming … I want to fight Mike Perry. I want to close that little thing with him. And then I was meant to fight John Wayne Parr as well. He’s a big fight, so he would be a great addition as well.”
Those all sound great, but can he lock down any of these high profile fights? Or will we catch him on the undercard of another random influencer boxing event getting outperformed by Hasbulla nemesis Abdu Rozik?
