According to Darren Till, Colby Covington is ‘out’ of his anticipated title fight with Tyron Woodley.

Although the UFC hadn’t confirmed it, Tyron Woodley promised to thrash newly-crowned interim welterweight champion Colby Covington in an anticipated title unification bout.

It was expected that Woodley and Covington would square off for the title later in the year but, according to breakout welterweight contender Darren Till, ‘Chaos’ is ‘out’ of the fight.

Till didn’t specify why Covington was ‘out’, but demanded that Woodley accept a replacement fight with him.

‘T-Wood’ was rather amused.

Till, 25, beat Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson in a competitive, unanimous decision earlier this year at UFC Fight Night Liverpool to establish himself as a top-three welterweight contender. However, the Liverpudlian missed weight by over three pounds and was forced to forfeit 30 percent of his purse to his opponent.

There’s been no news on whether Covington, who defeated Rafael dos Anjos to win the interim strap at UFC 225, is injured or suffering with illness. But Till also claims that Ultimate Fighting Championship offered him to step in as a replacement vs. Woodley, and that it’s on the reigning champ to accept.

If any of this is true, expect the UFC to announce something in the coming days. If it’s false, expect Covington to grill ‘The Gorilla’ on social media.
