No matter how much money they offer him, Darren Till refuses to face Mike Perry in the BKFC squared circle.
Darren Till really doesn’t want to face “Platinum” Mike Perry in a bareknuckle boxing match.
Perry returns to action at KnuckleMania IV on April 27th to fight fellow UFC vet Thiago Alves, which is a decent match-up, but no “Platinum” vs. “Gorilla.” Mike and Darren have been talking trash at each other for years, but something always got in the way of a fight.
It certainly isn’t the amount of money being offered to Till.
“I heard he said no to over $2 million dollars,” Perry said on the latest episode of The MMA Hour. “Darren’s just yapping away over there.”
Till wants to face Perry in a proper boxing match, and apparently no amount of money will budge him.
“Respect that you don’t care about that type of offer and you want what you want,” Perry said. “When you want what you want, that’s respectable. But that’s one thing about BKFC too — at the end of the day, screw the gloves. Test yourself for real. Up against the bone. Skin and bone, baby, that’s what’s in there. Test yourself.”
Perry suggested that a boxing bout may happen following his KnuckleMania IV fight, but it would have to make sense financially.
“A lot of guys say they wanna do it with boxing gloves or gloves of some kind,” he said. “Those fights will happen in the future. A big part of the [BKFC] contract is I can do other things as well, and if the right money, and it has to be right because I’m being paid very handsomely.”
Perry is also on a wild BKFC win, having beaten Michael Page, Luke Rockhold, and Eddie Alvarez in his last three fights. It’s no wonder other fighters are starting to treat him as unbeatable in bare knuckle.
