Darren Till is angling for a spot underneath Conor McGregor vs. Donald Cerrone.

Let the games begin. With confirmation that Conor McGregor will indeed return in a headlining bout at UFC 246 against Donald Cerrone, you can expect more than a few fighters to try to talk their way onto that lucrative card. And the first to do so is middleweight contender Darren Till.

Till, who debuted at 185 pounds with a win over Kelvin Gastelum recently, had already called out former champ Robert Whittaker for a fight. Whittaker accepted, and while the bout hasn’t been made official by the UFC yet, it sounds like it will happen. So naturally, Till wants it to be the co-main in Vegas on January 18th:

“Surely they need a co-main event? @robwhittakermma let’s go! #LowTopTing”

Till and Whittaker had previously agreed to fight in London in March via social media, but this is obviously a much higher-profile position for the two fighters to potentially find themselves in. Whittaker would be looking to bounce back from losing his title to Israel Adesanya, while Till would be in a prime spot to challenge Adesanya next if he beat Bobby Knuckles.

As mentioned, UFC 246 is headlined by a welterweight bout between McGregor and Cerrone.
