Tim Kennedy sent the soldiers at Ft. Campbell home happy Wednesday night with his knockout of Rafael Natal.
He also left $50,000 richer.
The former Army Ranger’s finish of his Brazilian foe late in the first round of their Fight for the Troops 3 main event won him the evening’s Knockout of the Night bonus.
Kennedy, of course, wasn’t the only fighter on the evening to pocket extra cash. Michael Chiesa used a sick throw to set up a rear-naked choke finish in the second round of his battle of former Ultimate Fighter winners. The Spokane, Wash. native took Submission of the Night honors.
Fight of the Night went to a back-and-forth lightweight battle between Rustam Khabilov and Jorge Masvidal. Khabilov won the entertaining scrap via unanimous decision.
