Following his April 6 win over Michael Kuiper, Tom Lawlor said Kuiper hurt his knee in the early minutes of the fight.
Did he ever.
Lawlor told MMAFighting.com on Thursday that when Kuiper landed a judo throw in the first two minutes of their fight in Stockholm, Sweden, he tore the ACL, MCL and meniscus in his right knee.
Amazingly, Lawlor overcame the injury to submit Kuiper via guillotine choke in the second round.
Lawlor had surgery shortly thereafter and is currently on the comeback trail. He hopes to resume his UFC career in the spring of 2014.
