Two top 10 featherweights — Josh Emmett and Mirsad Bektic — will wage war at UFC Sacramento on July 13.
Josh Emmett welcomes Mirsad Bektic back to the Octagon at UFC Sacramento.
The two ranked featherweights are scheduled to compete against one another on July 13, MMA Junkie confirmed following an initial report from Farah Hannoun.
Emmett (14-2) is currently ranked eight in the UFC’s official rankings and is coming off a highlight-reel come-from-behind one-punch knockout of Michael Johnson at UFC Philadelphia. Bektic (13-1) has been sidelined since suffering an undisclosed injury in the lead-up to his fight with Renato Moicano at UFC 231. He is coming off a split decision win over Ricardo Lamas at UFC 225.
UFC Sacramento takes place at the Golden1 Center in California on July 13. Emmett’s Team Alpha Male head coach Urijah Faber will come out of retirement to face surging bantamweight Ricky Simon. Other notable bouts include Cynthia Calvillo vs. Livinha Souza, Darren Elkins vs. Ryan hall and Beneil Dariush vs. Drakkar Klose.
