Following three straight losses, the UFC has cut times with Jussier Formiga.

The UFC has decided to release one of their longest-tenured flyweights.

Jussier Formiga (23-8, 9-7 UFC) entered the UFC in 2012 and hovered around the top five of the division pretty much the whole time. However, after three straight losses where he was finished twice, the promotion has sent him on his way. MMA Fighting is reporting the news via several anonymous sources.

Once ranked as the number one 125-pound fighter in the world before the the UFC brought in the weight class, he entered the promotion and was placed right into a number one contender fight with John Dodson. He lost that, but was given many other chances in top contender bouts. Unfortunately for him, Formiga always came up short and never fought for the title.

He had been ranked as the number seven contender at flyweight as of last week, but has now been removed from the rankings. He is still the only man to defeat current champion Deiveson Figueiredo, who he bested by decision in 2019.
