Just minutes before Trevin Giles was supposed to fight Kevin Holland, a fainting spell cancelled the matchup together.
A middleweight bout between Trevin Giles and Kevin Holland is now off of UFC Vegas 5.
This matchup was scheduled to open up the main card of this event, but UFC reporter Heidi Androl told viewers that Giles fainted backstage just before the walkouts were scheduled to happen. It was at that point that Nevada Athletic Commission decided that the fight could not continue.
Afterward, UFC broadcast footage showed Giles sitting on a chair and seemingly aware of his surroundings, but the commission had already called it off and he has since been transported to a local hospital for a full examination. A card that initially had 11 bouts scheduled is now down to eight, with two cancelled on fight day.
Hopefully Giles is alright but the only info we have at the moment is that he passed out and thus this event has endured yet another cancellation.
A lightweight rematch between Bobby Green and Lando Vannata, put together just days out from fight night, is now the new main card opener.
