Triller Fight Club: Evander Holyfield vs. Vitor Belfort live results, round by round updates
Join Bloody Elbow for live round by round results and coverage of today’s (Sept. 11) Triller Fight Club pay-per-view in Hollywood, FL.
In the main event, legendary former cruiserweight and heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield steps in on short notice to take on former UFC champion Vitor Belfort. Despite much reporting that the 58-year-old was going to be in a sanctioned pro bout against ‘The Phenom,’ apparently it will be an eight-round exhibition, with each round lasting two minutes.
The co-main event is the great ex-UFC middleweight king Anderson Silva and former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz in a 195-pound catchweight… or at least that was the plan until Ortiz missed weight. Silva has dealt with this before, as it happened in his last boxing match vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Instead it’ll be a 200 lbs catchweight and an eight-round pro bout.
Rounding out the PPV is ex-cruiserweight and ex-heavyweight boxing champ David Haye coming out of retirement to take on entrepreneur Joe Fournier. This is also a professional bout after initially being an exhibition. The only non-circus fight on the main card is a junior lightweight battle between Andy Vences and Jono Carroll, which should be fun.
All of the action starts at 6 PM ET/3 PM PT with the one-hour freeview of the prelims, then the Triller PPV begins at 7 PM ET/4 PM PT. Yes, there will be musical performances so this will be a lengthy show. Yes, we have to cover this.
