Before today’s monumental announcement between the Ultimate Fighting Championship and the FOX tv network, Spike also made an official announcement of their own.

Season fourteen of “The Ultimate Fighter” will be the last season shown on Spike TV as the network focuses on other “original series”.

“The Ultimate Fighter” season 14 in September will be our last. We are increasing our commitment to distinctive, original series that we own such as “Auction Hunters” and “Bar Rescue” which are delivering on our goal to reach a broader audience. Our 6-year partnership with the UFC has been incredibly beneficial in building both our brands, and we wish them all the best in the future.

TUF debuted on Spike back in 2005 with UFC light heavyweights Forrest Griffin and Stephan Bonnar meeting in the finale.

The future home of TUF will be on the “FX” channel on Friday nights, and will feature live bouts.
