Round 1: Both fighters open southpaw. Against the fence McDaniel unloads with several hard punches and elbows. As Smith evades, McDaniel slips on his own kick. Smith now working from guard, but gets swept. Smith captures half guard, but McDaniel whizzering hard and landing hammerfists. Smith stands enough to secure a single leg dump. Smith working from McDaniel’s butterfly guard. McDaniel inches his way to the fence and stands. McDaniel uses a high elbow guillotine to secure a sweep and is now again in Smith’s half guard. Knees to Smith’s body as Smith turtles.
