This week we feature the Nov. 5th, 2005 TUF 2 Finale: ‘Sanchez vs. Diaz’ event, (last week we covered UFC Fight Night 11: ‘Thomas vs. Florian’). This was just a seven-fight card, three of which went to decision, but the other four had some fun finishes. The event went down from The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The main event that night showcased one of the best fights of the year when welterweight standouts Diego ‘Nightmare’ Sanchez and Nick Diaz battled it out for three rounds. Diaz was entering the octagon after having had two decent wins at UFC 51 and UFC 53, having just beat Koji Oishi at 1:24 in Round 1 via Punches a few months back, at the top of June of that year. Sanchez was entering the octagon undefeated in all of his fights on record against fellow American, Diaz; having last defeated Brian Gassaway at UFC 54, via Punches at 1:56 of Round 2. Then, in the co-main event we were treated to a heavyweight brawl between future Light Heavyweight Champion Rashad Evans and Brad Imes that ended in a Split Decision.

Also that night, on the main card we got to watch the future top contender, Joe Stevenson, go the distance against Luke Cummo and Kenny Florian sub Kit Cope. Meanwhile, during the prelims we had Josh Burkman slam Sam Morgan into defeat in just 0:21 seconds of Round 1.
