Elias Theodorou got off to a bit of a slow start Wednesday night at the TUF Nations Finale.

But once he got revved up, there was no stopping him.

Theodorou left no doubt in his middleweight tournament championship bout against fellow Team Canada fighter Sheldon Westcott. Theodorou poured it on in Quebec City before finally getting the TKO finish at 4:41 of the second round.

Westcott, an Alberta native who came in with an 8-1-1 record, went straight for a takedown out of the gate, got it, and got Theodorou’s back. He stayed on his back as Theorodou got back to his feet and briefly got a rear-naked choke before Theordorou shook him off.

The Missisagua, Ont. native turned up the heat from there, landing several big knees as the round wore on. In round two, Theodorou completely took over, mixing up his strikes at range, in the clinch, and on the ground, and even taking time to stop and say hit to his mom in the camera. Referee Philippe Chartier called off what was shaping up to be a 10-8 round less than 20 seconds before round’s end.

“This is an amazing thing, this is the greatest moment of my life,” said Theodorou, who improved to 9-0 on his career.
