Whoops!
It has been four days since Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight Fares Ziam melted Matt Frevola at UFC Paris with an absolutely savage knee from inside Accor Arena in Paris, France (watch highlights).
French outlet RMC Sport Combat has released new footage of the knockout sequence… from the corner’s perspective. While it’s sad to see a coach witness their fighter get knocked out cold, it is low-key hilarious because of the circumstances in which it happened.
In the clip, legendary head coach Ray Longo, who has had four fighters become UFC champions, tells his fighter Frevola to “turn around” when Ziam has his back against the cage. Well, Frevola did turn around; however, it was straight into Ziam’s knee, rendering him unconscious.
Longo’s face looked like he had seen a ghost, and Frevola’s other cornerman was super disappointed.

Coach cams have become very popular in the UFC broadcast over the years, and sometimes, they deliver gold like this.
Frevola responded to the clip of him getting slept on Twitter.
“Tough to watch [because] I hate letting my team down and seeing them like that,” Frevola wrote.
“I did what I was trained to do, fight the hands, face him with good posture to fight in the clinch. Ray told me to turn around, face him, which is correct. Jimmy told me he wanted the knee, which we knew. Was simply a perfect high knee with his frame and accuracy. Can only tip your hat and move on.”
Frevola ended up with a left orbital fracture and is riding a two-fight knockout loss streak.
