If Georges St-Pierre is going to return to the UFC, Donald Cerrone wants to be the guy he faces.
It’s no surprise that everyone is angling to get on the UFC 200 card in July. It will likely be one of the biggest events of the year for the promotion, and maybe in their history. One guy who is always ready to fight is Donald Cerrone, and he decided today to call out a legend who could possibly be making his return to the organization after an extended absence. That would be former welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.
Hey GSP @ufc #200 I know a guy. @GeorgesStPierre

After a long lightweight run, Cerrone (29-7, 1 NC, 16-4 UFC) moved up to welterweight for his last bout, and smoked late replacement Alex Oliveira in half a round. Even with only one 170-pound bout under his belt, he would be a very interesting opponent for St-Pierre (25-2, 19-2 UFC), who hasn’t fought since late 2013.
Whether GSP will actually return is very much up in the air right now. He was in attendance for UFC 196, and had talked of a training camp with Freddie Roach that never seemed to materialize. UFC president Dana White has talked him up, but has also taken some shots at him of late.
While I don’t think this particular callout will come to fruition, the idea of it seems pretty fun to consider.
