Tweet of the day: Nate Diaz is ‘going on vacation,’ out of UFC 200?

UFC lightweight contender Nate Diaz said on Friday that he would be taking a vacation unless he fought Conor McGregor at UFC 200. It looks like Diaz is ready for his vacation.

During Friday’s UFC International Fight Week press conference, Nate Diaz told reporters that he only wanted to fight Conor McGregor at UFC 200, despite Dana White’s assertion that Diaz wanted to remain on the card. In fact, here were Diaz’s exact words:

“I mean, I came to fight Conor McGregor, and I don’t really have any interest in anybody else. I don’t have any interest in fighting at all, but if that’s what we’re gonna do, I thought we were gonna do it. … I didn’t ask for that fight, but he asked for it and he wanted it, and if that ain’t gonna happen, I’m going on vacation.”

Fast forward to Monday, and Diaz has tweeted that he’s — wait for it — going on vacation.

Happy to announce that I’m going on vacation #gone #100 ✌ ️

It’s a clear callback to Friday, which potentially means that no other opponent interested him, and just like McGregor, he’ll be off the card. The UFC hasn’t commented on Diaz’s status on UFC 200, but Dana White was quick to shoot down Conor McGregor’s tweet from this morning saying that he was back on the July 9th pay-per-view.

What a circus.
