Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was forced to make several changes to its July 25 fight card on ESPN+, headlined by the middleweight showdown between former champion Robert Whittaker and surging contender Darren Till on “Fight Island” (Yas Island) in Abu Dhabi.
That’s because Danny Roberts and Shavkat Rakhmonov have been tossed from the event for undisclosed reasons, according to MMA Junkie, which may or may not be related to the recent light heavyweight addition of Paul Craig vs. Gadzhimurad Antigulov.
No word yet on what will happen to the stranded Nicolas Dalby and Ramazan Emeev.
It’s important we don’t jump to conclusions, but we’ll do it anyway because this is the Internet and that’s kinda what we do. The obvious frontrunners are travel/visa issues and positive COVID-19 tests, but we’ll have to wait for the promotion to make an official announcement.
