A couple of prelim bouts have been confirmed by Strikeforce officials for the promotions upcoming Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Silva event. Fighting on the undercard will be lightweights Marc Stevens (12-5) vs. John Cholish (5-1) and welterweights Igor Gracie (2-2) vs. John Salgado (4-4-1).
The Strikeforce event is set for Feb. 12 at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, NJ and will feature the opening quarterfinal bouts of the Strikeforce World Grand Prix heavyweight tournament.
MMAjunkie.com confirmed the matches with Strikeforce spokesperson Mike Afromowitz on Thursday.
Fans will remember Stevens from season 12 of “The Ultimate Fighter” as a member of Team Koscheck. The fighter will look to prove himself since being eliminated twice on the Spike tv show to Cody McKenzie and Aaron Wilkinson. His last official mma bout was a win in September 2009 at a local IWFC event. Meanwhile his opponent Cholish carries a five fight win streak into the cage with him earning his last win at a Ring of Combat event last October.
Gracie took all of 2010 off taking his last fight in December of 2009, earning a win over Chris Vorano at an event in Canada. Meanwhile Salgado took his last fight last November losing a decision to Chris Liguori.
